Spider-man shoot
The direction of my work is that I will now produce a series of superhero portraits which pay homage to the characters chosen. I will only use 1 image of each character with the intention of having the outcome of an exhibiton of large prints. The one's I will use so far are the most recently scanned Wolverine photo and the Catwoman picture of her looking at her reflection in the mirror, along with this newly shot Spider-man/Mary Jane image.

Catwoman.
Wolverine.
As explained in the brief, the images are to be created in to a magazine. One of each character against a white backdrop will work as the introduction page for there mini-narrative.
From a fashion angle, the clothes worked possibly a little too well, looking like a mimic of the character, i'm hoping that when part of the collection it will work better as having clothing suggestive of the character.
The first image works great for what I was aiming for, the model's exaggerated expressions work especially well.
The following images (which need editing) were to show Wolverine attaching his knives; looking back at them as he walks through the tunnel; and finally a double-page image suggesting he will attack the passer-by.
I'm happy with the intro image, yet feel I need to revsit this shoot to improve the standard of images for the mini-narrative, as I feel the images I made don't do this character justice.
New project - Superhero's
Working on a new project for term 3 of my 2nd year, in which I've decided to do something similar to my Disney shoot, but hopefully boosting production quality considerably.
My brief is as follows:
The project is to produce a series of fashion photographs based on popular superhero’s, with the market of a fashion magazine such as Dazed & Confused in mind.
Models will be dressed with everyday clothing, along with special props (such as masks) that will identify them as portraying a superhero. The superhero’s will be shot individually, and have one photo shoot together in order to create a front cover for a mini-magazine that I will produce.
Darker personality traits will be drawn out of what we know of the superheros, to depict a scenario where they are acting to a negative extreme suggested by their character. The character’s to be portrayed are Superman, Catwoman, Spiderman, Supergirl and Wolverine.
The work will be influenced firstly by comic books in which the characters come from; the extreme representations of scenarios from the work of David LaChapelle; and the darker themed scenarios often seem in the work of Annie Leibovitz.
